"What is brunch, exactly?" - was the question I was asking myself as I sat down in Le Cygne (French for 'The Swan') at around 2.30pm earlier this week.

Despite having completely missed the point of it being a fusion of breakfast and lunch, I nevertheless was treated to a dish called 'Eggs Blackstone', complete with poached eggs, streaky bacon, and Hollandaise sauce on an English muffin.

An entertaining music video has been made to encourage more volunteers to join Dawlish Community Transport – a lifeline for many local residents.

The charity, with its wheelchair-accessible vehicles, transports people to health appointments, social and leisure activities, shopping trips and more. During the Covid pandemic it's been at the centre of many initiatives to support Dawlish's most vulnerable people.

With half term approaching for many schools in the county, Public Health Devon are advising residents to be cautious of travelling due to spread of the Indian variant of the COVID-19 virus in some areas of England.

There are no known cases of the Indian variant in Devon at the moment, but the areas with the highest cases in the country include Bedford, Blackburn with Darwen, Bolton, Burnley, Kirklees, Leicester, London Borough of Hounslow, and North Tyneside.
