A Dawlish man has been questioned about an attack on a man in Teignmouth last week.

A man in his 30s was left with cuts and a head injury after an incident in Bank Street on Thursday, January 21 at about 4pm.

Health chiefs remain confident that the four highest priority groups in Devon will have received their first Covid-19 vaccination by the mid-February target.

They say all those aged over 80 will have been offered an appointment by the end of this week at the latest, while 95.4 per cent of care homes in Devon had been vaccinated by last Sunday.

Devon's Snow Wardens are ready to spring into action this weekend, as a yellow warning of snow and ice takes effect this evening (Friday, January 22). The snow is expected to arrive early on Sunday morning.

They will also be marking the 10th anniversary of the volunteer scheme, which was started by the county council in 2011 and now covers 325 towns and parishes.

The sale of Dawlish's black swan badges has raised nearly £1,500 towards the care of the town's much-loved waterfowl colony.

The town council's Civic Amenities Committee received an update on the black swans and other birds on the Brook at their meeting on Wednesday, January 20.
