The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in the South West tomorrow (Wednesday 8 September).
The warning will be in effect from 11am until 9pm, and it will reportedly be a dry day with a chance of heavy rain and lightning.

The double-masted schooner Johanna Lucretia departed the Teign Estuary yesterday on Monday 6 September.
She was in Teignmouth this weekend for the shanty festival (4-5 September).

The Dawlish Guides has room for a few more girls to join this term.
The 'Guide Unit' meets on Tuesdays from 7.30pm-9pm, and is for girls aged 10-14.
Dawlish Museum has now closed its doors for 2021 after reopening on 21 July.
This year's season was shorter due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but the museum has thanked visitors for coming.

Local authorities in Devon are putting pressure on the government to address a shortage of HGV drivers causing disruption to bin collections.
Torbay, Teignbridge and North Devon councils have written to Home Secretary Priti Patel, calling on the government to allow temporary visas for European HGV drivers to help sort out the shortage.

The Tour of Britain cycling race is passing through Devon today on its Sherford to Exeter stage.
Roads will be closed along the route in a 'rolling road closure' method, i.e. around 10 to 15 minutes before the arrival time of the cyclists.

As of today (Monday 6 September) RNLI Lifeguards will not patrol the beaches at Teignmouth, Dawlish Warren, or Sandy Bay.
The summer season patrols have now come to an end, but there will still be lifeguards on duty in Exmouth in September at weekends from 10am-6pm.
