Devon County Council has said that it plans to bid for £34m of government funding from the 'Bus Back Better' scheme in order to improve bus services and lower fare prices in the county.
An additional £7.5 million could reportedly be spent on improving infrastructure and speeding up journey times in Exeter, Exmouth, Barnstaple and Newton Abbot.
The minor injuries unit in Dawlish Community Hospital has been closed since March 2020, and has not yet reopened.
A spokesperson for Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust told Dawlish Nub News in August that the trust was 'hopeful' that it would be able to reopen in October 2021, but has now confirmed that due to a lack of staff its reopening will be delayed further.

Devon County Council is to receive just over £5 million as part of the government's household support fund for struggling families over the winter.
The money is part of a £500 million national fund and comes just days after the end of furlough and the £20 uplift in universal credit. It's to help people struggling with the cost of food, heating, water and other essentials.

Traffic lights will be installed at the bridge on Clay Lane near Chudleigh Knighton in an effort to improve safety and reduce congestion.
The bridge has been struck as many as 20 times since 1999, and there is poor visibility on the approach to the bridge. There is also congestion during peak times.
