Police have issued an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage after a 33-year-old male pedestrian died in a collision with an HGV yesterday (Tuesday 1 February).

The crash took place on the northbound carriageway of the M5 between Exeter and Cullompton.

The High, with a pressure above 1040millibars, became slow moving over SW England between the 20th and 24th. This resulted in some rather chilly days and on the 21st the coldest morning of the month, with a frost even right on the coast.

Update 11.33am: All lanes have now reopened, according to the AA - but there are still delays.

Update 10.38am: A male pedestrian has died after being involved in a collision with a heavy goods vehicle on the northbound carriageway of the M5.
