Running club Dawlish Coasters is inviting the public to take part in its 'Oh My Obelisk!' races.

There is a choice of two multi-terrain events: a half-marathon or a nine-mile route. They will take place on Sunday 14 January from 10.30am.

Prices for the half marathon are £22 (£20 affiliated), and £17 (£15 affiliated) for the nine-mile route.

A Dawlish Coasters spokesperson said: "Both routes start at Dawlish Leisure Centre. The nine-mile event heads back to Dawlish at the end of the second Long Lane section through fields and lanes while the half marathon continues on to Mamhead forest, taking in the obelisk and then back down to the finish at the leisure centre.

"The race starts and finishes at the sports field on Sandy Lane, Dawlish."

There will be prizes available for first-, second- and third-place male and female finishers for both distances, and also a "great memento" for all who finish their race.
