New volunteer Eira and Dad Tom Mason with young peoples ambassador for DAP, Katherine aged 8

Dawlish Against Plastic have taken over the organising of the litter pick in the parish since The Open Daw sadly closed.

New and remaining volunteers collected over 19kg of litter on Saturday morning and will continue their efforts every last Saturday of the month, from 10am-noon at the Manor House carpark.

Dawlish weekend weather update

After a week of cooler weather with some sunshine on Wednesday, this weekend is not much to write home about.

Saturday will start off overcast and turn into sunny spells at lunchtime - the wind will be moderate, with gusts of up to 17mph. The temperature will stay cool throughout the day, not going higher than 17 degrees Celsius.

It's been suggested that a Metro Mayor for the area of Exeter, East Devon, Mid Devon and Teignbridge could drive forward infrastructure improvements across the area, boost the economy and support job creation.

Metro mayors hold powers over spatial planning, regional transport, the provision of skills training, business support services, and economic development, and are directly elected by residents.
