Dawlish Leisure Centre: Children's summer camps return after lifting of restrictions Teignbridge Leisure

Following the lifting of most legal Covid restrictions on Monday 19 July, Dawlish Leisure Centre can now accept walk-ins and is offering children's camps during the summer.

According to Teignbridge Leisure, the camps are led by 'fully qualified and experienced coaches, with a full DBS check in place', and run from Monday 2 August.

Taking place on Sunday 15 August on the Lawn, it will start at 3pm and finish at 5pm.

Auditions for a Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime will take place at the Shaftesbury Theatre this Sunday 25 July.

The pantomime, written and directed by Chris Matanlé, will be performed from 8-15 January 2022.

Dawlish: WW2 'bomb' on beach just an old buoy

A suspected 'bomb' found on Dawlish beach this afternoon (22 July) turned out to be an old buoy buried in the sand.

Devon & Cornwall Police, HM Coastguard, and a bomb disposal unit from the Royal Navy were called to the scene after a member of the public discovered what they thought to be a WW2 bomb.

Dawlish: Why waste collections have been delayed recently

Teignbridge District Council has said that staff shortages, self-isolating, and vehicles breaking down have caused delays recently with waste collection.

The delays have reportedly ranged from 1-2 days in some areas, and the public have been asked to leave their bins out so that the crews can catch up.

Dawlish Museum reopens today

Dawlish Museum has now reopened as of today, Wednesday 21 July, and will remain open until 4 September.

Its new opening times are Wednesday to Saturday from 11am to 3pm (last entry at 2.15pm).
