Work begins again on new accessible footbridge at Dawlish railway station
Work on the foundations of a new accessible footbridge with lifts at Dawlish railway station resumed on Monday (9 January).
Further piling work is set to take place on Saturday nights from 14 January for the rest of the month.
It comes after 50 per cent of the piled foundations required for the footbridge were installed over the Christmas period.
The accessible footbridge is due to open to the public this summer.
A Network Rail spokesperson said: "We'll continue piling in the station car park when the BAM Nuttall team return to work on Monday 9 January after their Christmas break.
"And we'll also be piling on Saturday nights in January from 14 January as some of the work can only be done safely while trains aren't running. Please note dates and times may change.
"Thank you to our neighbours for your patience while we carry out this work to improve accessibility at the station."
What is the progress of other projects at the railway?

Work on a new link bridge connecting the two sections of the new sea wall began in June 2022 and is expected to be complete by around the end of January.
