A quad bike belonging to the RNLI Lifeguard service has been stolen in Teignmouth.
The RNLI Lifeguard storage garage on The Den was broken into overnight on 9 and 10 August and a red Honda TRX500 FM, registration WA18 CHL, taken.
Henry Irvine, Regional Lifeguard Lead for the South West said: "We were so saddened to find... that entry has been forced into our garage and essential lifesaving equipment stolen.
"This equipment is paid for by our generous donors and is vital for allowing us to launch an RWC [rescue water craft] for urgent rescues to help people in difficulty in the water off Teignmouth beach."
An alternative vehicle is reportedly being sourced and the rescue water craft will be back on service as soon as possible.
Anyone with information can contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 quoting crime reference number 50230219029.
