Teignbridge has second most unpredictable summer weather in UK, study finds

By Will Goddard 23rd Jul 2021

The district of Teignbridge has the second most unpredictable summer weather in the entire country, a study has found.

The study, conducted by SaveOnEnergy.com/uk, measured the unpredictability or volatility of summer weather based on historical monthly climate records from UKCP09 (UK Climate Predictions) for the months of June, July & August.

The five variables measured were sunshine hours, rainfall, average temperature, wind speed, and relative humidity.

A score out of ten was then given to various places across the country, with 10 being the most unpredictable and 1 being the most predictable.

In first place was Somerset West and Taunton, with an average score of 7.7.

Teignbridge followed close behind in second place with 7.59, with particularly high unpredictability scores for humidity and wind speed.
