A fire that damaged a thatched bus shelter in Starcross is being treated as arson.

Firefighters from Dawlish and Exeter were called out to the scene at about 7.15pm on Saturday, March 20, and found the bus shelter well alight.

Another crew from Middlemoor came to help as they stripped the thatched roof and put out the flames with a hose reel jet.

The police also attended as it appeared that the fire had been started deliberately.
