Rain claims another chunk of Dawlish's Old Vicarage

Part of the western end of Dawlish's Old Vicarage has collapsed amid recent rain and wind.

The Grade II listed property at 13 Weech Road, which has been slowly falling apart over the years, has also been waiting almost two and a half years for a decision on a planning application.

The plans would demolish some parts of it but restore others.

Historic England, the organisation responsible for listing properties, thinks the site is still of historic interest and wants to protect the cob of the Old Vicarage building.

Residents, however, are concerned about a lack of progress.

Teignbridge District Council told Dawlish Nub News in September it hoped to be able "to make a decision in the coming months".
