Police seized what is believed to be heroin with an estimated value of around £30,000 after a traffic stop in Teignmouth early on Friday morning (30 June).

After two constables stopped a vehicle with no insurance, the occupants fled and threw "a large brown bag of powder" into a nearby garden.

The cops arrested three people and seized the bagged substance.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "A big result for our patrol team in the small hours of [Friday] morning in Teignmouth.

"After our officers stopped a vehicle with no insurance, instead of stopping to chat the occupants all decided to go for a very early morning run, in the process throwing a large brown bag of powder into a nearby garden.

"The result? Three people in custody and what is believed to be heroin with a street value of around £30,000 off the street. A great effort by the two PCs involved."
