Police are appealing for witnesses of an arson attack which destroyed at least five of Dawlish Community Transport's nine vehicles.

The fire is believed to have been started at around 2am on Friday (14 July) at Barton Hill car park in Dawlish.

The force said it was keen to see dashcam, CCTV and doorbell footage, especially from the Barton Terrace area.

DS Martin Key said: "Following discussions with the fire investigator, we can confirm that this fire was started deliberately, and we are investigating this matter as arson.

"These minibuses belong to the local community transport and are vital to the community; this is an appalling act of vandalism and we are doing all we can to locate and arrest the person responsible.

"We are appealing to the public for dashcam, CCTV and doorbell footage that could assist with our enquiries, especially in the Barton Terrace area.

"We would like to speak with anyone who was in the area and noticed anything suspicious."

You can get in touch with police online or by phoning 101, quoting crime reference 50230195029.

An online fundraiser to help Dawlish Community Transport has gathered over £4,000 just two days after being launched.
