Plans to build bungalow in back garden of Dawlish property revealed

Planning permission is currently being sought to build a new two-bedroom single-storey bungalow in the rear garden of 5 Barton Villas in Dawlish.
If approved, the application would also see the garage block refurbished.
The property is a semi-detached late Victorian villa divided into apartments over three storeys. It is not listed.
It has a "substantial" garden which extends to Barton Lane, and contains a garage and a small outbuilding.
The new bungalow in the garden would be set eight metres back from Barton Lane with a size of 144.4 square metres. (For reference, a tennis court is about 260 square metres).
According to the planning documents, it would have a "shallow pitched roof and low height" to ensure it stays "visually subservient to the main building and adjacent garages".
The bungalow would be accessed from Barton Lane and have a gravel driveway with a gate.
The application is currently awaiting a decision from the district council.
