Plans to build 14 new homes in Dawlish have been submitted to Teignbridge District Council.

The new homes would be built instead of 17 new apartments for later living at the Shell Cove development off Old Teignmouth Road in Dawlish.

Permission had already been granted at the site for the apartments, as well as 11 cottages.

Each of the 14 homes, which would be seven pairs of four-bedroom "townhouses", would have its own garden and two parking spaces.

They would reportedly be constructed with similar materials to the recently built cottages, such as timber, buff brick, and zinc faced/ aluminium coated frames.

No affordable housing is proposed on-site, as a contribution of £212k towards off-site affordable housing has already been paid under the larger Shell Cove development.

The application is currently awaiting a decision from Teignbridge District Council.
