A new outdoor game for families described as 'paintball without the pain' has now launched in Dawlish Warren.

Splat Attack, the creation of 12-year-old Chris Thomas brought to fruition with the help of Jenny Bindon, Charleigh Deane and Caroline Paula Allen, is designed to help people get active and bring families closer together.

Co-founder and Managing Director Caroline Paula Allen, known as Caz, said: "Splat Attack is a game that helps to bring families together through play.

"[It's] a way to get the most committed of Xbox addicts excited to be outside and active.

"Some players have described the game as 'paintball, without the pain'. We just like to call it Splat Attack!"

The new not-for-profit game for ages eight and up is based at the Langstone Cliff Hotel in Dawlish Warren.

For walk-in games, prices start from £7.50 per hour. The 'gooey splats' used reportedly wash out of clothes easily.
