Last year's Black Swan badge; the new ones would have a different design

A new batch of Dawlish Waterfowl badges could be available soon, following the huge demand for the Black Swan badges last year.

Five hundred badges were designed and produced by Richard Hayward to raise money for the waterfowl, after the avian flu outbreak in November.

The badges, priced at £3 each, sold out quickly and raised nearly £1,500 towards the care of Dawlish's waterfowl. Read more here.

Now, the town council is being asked to put up the money for a batch of 500 Dawlish Waterfowl 2021 badges – and, unlike the original collection, these could be sold online as well as in local shops.

After the production costs had been recouped, all proceeds would go towards the upkeep of the waterfowl.

Talks have been taking place with Richard Hayward, Neil Salter (Dawlish Beach Cams and Chamber of Trade), and a potential design has been seen by councillors.

Further details will be announced in Dawlish Nub News as soon as we have an update.
