A new early-morning swimming group has been formed in the town, called the 'Dawlish Dippers'.

Currently comprising four members, Robin Buchanan, Val Hempstock, Simon Osborn, and Alison North, the group meets at Coryton Cove two to three times a week at 7am.

Robin said: "We've all recently worked out how to take photos in the water with our mobile phones without damaging them.

"This one [see above] I find particularly effective: what seems a unique panoramic view of Coryton Cove and also makes it look like an island.

"In a sense, it is at that time of the morning, when often there is only the sound of gulls and the water gently lapping the shore.

"We try to meet Tuesdays and Thursdays and one day at the weekend, at present at 7am at Coryton Cove, Dawlish (by the cafe).

"This is weather/sea condition dependent. As days get shorter we will meet a bit later. Best check by email the evening before if the first time!"

If you would like to join the Dawlish Dippers, you can get in touch with Robin via email [email protected] or Val [email protected]
