Dawlish Warren's Langstone Cliff Hotel has reopened for outdoor food and drink.
It's now open from 10am until 7pm, with hot food served between 11.30am and 6.30pm, weather dependent.
There is a covered veranda and gazebo, as well as plenty of outdoor space for social distancing, and an play area for children.
Bookings are not necessary – tables are available on a first come, first served basis.
Customers can go inside the building to use the toilets or visit the hotel's hairdressers and beauticians.
Visitors arriving by car need to give the hotel reception their registration number to get free parking for the day. This is because the car park is managed by a separate company, Smart Parking, which makes sure people using it are hotel customers – not leaving their vehicles there while they visit the nearby beach. Once the hotel reception have the car registration, they pass it on to Smart Parking. There are plenty of signs on the site reminding customers to register their vehicle.
Under the Covid track and trace system, there is currently a legal requirement that all guests over the age of 16 must give their name and contact details. The hotel keeps these details confidential, does not share them with any third parties, and holds them for just 21 days. The only exception to this would be if the customer asked to be added to the mailing list for events and special offers, in which case the contact details would be used only for that purpose.
The hotel's management say they are 'really looking forward to welcoming back our guests, old and new'.
The reception is staffed between 9am and 6pm, and customers are welcome to phone if they need any further information before visiting – the number is 01626 868 000.
