Dawlish's HM Coastguard Rescue Team and Teignmouth RNLI saved three children cut off by the tide near Coryton Cove just after 5pm on Thursday (26 January).

They were rescued by boat and taken back to Teignmouth where they were reunited with their families.

An HM Coastguard spokesperson said: "Dawlish Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked alongside RNLI Teignmouth at 5.09pm on 26 January to reports of three children cut off by the tide near Coryton Cove, Dawlish.

"On arrival it was decided the best way to extricate them was via boat.

"Once collected, the crew on the lifeboat chose to take the casualties back to Teignmouth as it was the safer option where they were reunited with families and given suitable advice.

"Parents and carers, please make sure that those in your care are aware of the risks around the coastal areas including the tide!"
