Dawlish's HM Coastguard team was called out to an incident on Dawlish seafront just after 3pm on Thursday (11 August).

An individual had injured their ankle by stepping in a hole behind a rock underwater.

They helped the member of the public off the beach, who was then taken to hospital by friends.

A spokesperson for Dawlish HM Coastguard Rescue Team said: "Please be aware you cannot always see where you are stepping in the water. Please take care!"
