A public consultation on the design of a new 'health and wellbeing centre' in Teignmouth has launched today (Friday 12 August).

The land sale for the new centre on Brunswick Street has been approved by the district council but the centre has not yet received planning permission.

The site includes Brunswick Street Car Park and an adjacent former garage. A new car park on the corner of Brunswick Street and George Street would be created.

The centre would bring together several local clinics and GP practices.

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust has said that the aim is for it to open in 2024, subject to planning permission and a final sign-off.

The consultation is about the design of the building and not about the services it would offer.

There will also be a live webinar presentation about the design at 10am on 24 August. To join, email [email protected].
