Got any questions for the town council? Come to the Parish Meeting!

Dawlish residents have the chance to question their town councillors at an in-person meeting of the council on Wednesday, May 26.

The annual Parish Meeting is a platform for the council to explain what it has been doing over the past year, and for electors to have their say on any issues they feel are important to local residents.

There was no meeting last year because of the Covid pandemic, so this is the first opportunity since 2019 for the event to take place.

The meeting will be held at St Gregory's Church at 7pm next Wednesday.

Anyone who wants to ask a question should submit it to the Town Clerk in writing or via email to [email protected] no later than noon on Monday, 24 May 2021.

At the meeting, the former Mayor of Dawlish, Alison Foden, will report on her extended term of office at a time when the town was coping with lockdowns and the stress of the Covid pandemic.

The chairs of the council's various committees will also be invited to report on their activities; these cover Finance and General Purposes, Amenities, Manor House and Riverside Centre, Planning and Events.

The agenda for the meeting can be found on the council's website under Meetings.

Residents who attend will need to adhere to the social distancing and Covid-secure measures, as required by the Church. Face coverings to be worn at all times except where a permitted exemption applies.
