Events to look forward to this year as Dawlish opens up again

With Covid restrictions easing under Step Three of the Government's roadmap to recovery, events are being planned in Dawlish again.
Throughout the rest of the year, plenty of entertainment for residents and visitors alike is being arranged by the town council and other organisations – Covid measures permitting.
Here are some of the events local people can look forward to as Dawlish opens up again.
Saturday 29th May and Sunday 30th May: Seaside Fun planned for bank holiday weekend on Lawn including Uncle Tacko's Flea Circus, Prof Gayton's Punch and Judy and Seaside Games.
The Friends of Dawlish Railway Station are hoping to hold an event after the 21st June celebrating the 175th anniversary of the opening of Dawlish Station. (The actual date of the anniversary is May 30.)
Sunday 27th June – Heritage Cycle Ride and Seaside Fun on the Lawn.
Monday 5th July NHS and Frontline Workers Day – Flag raising 10am, two-minute silence 11am and Nation's Toast 1pm – organised by Dawlish Town Council locally.
Saturday 10th July to Sunday 11th July – Giant Screen – Wimbledon on the Lawn organised by Dawlish Town Council.
Saturday 17th July – Snooky Fest at Warren Farm.
Sunday 18th July – Classic Cars on the Lawn, organised by Dawlish Town Council.
Saturday 14th August to Friday 20th August – Dawlish Celebrates Carnival.
Friday 3rd September - Merchant Navy Day – Flag Raising.
Saturday 4th September – Armed Forces, Lawn event organised by Dawlish Town Council.
Sunday 5th September – Bike and Trike Show – Lawn, organised by the Armed Forces Bikers.
Saturday 18th to 26th September 2021 Great Big Green Week – national event. Beach and town clean by Dawlish Against Plastic potentially being planned.
Sunday 26th September End of season rally. Lady's Mile, Dawlish 10am to 4pm Provisional dates only.
November – 100-year anniversary of Dawlish Royal British Legion Club.
Monday 1st November to 14th November – Poppy Wall Thursday 11th November – Armistice Day – Two minute silence at 11am.
Sunday 14th November – Remembrance Sunday – Silence at 11am, Parade and Church Service in the afternoon.
Christmas 2021 – Light switch on and activities on a number of weekends. Light switch on Friday 26th November 2021. Organised by Dawlish Town Council. Suggestions have been made for a potential firework or laser display event.
