A dog was rescued by the coastguard after falling off Red Rock and getting stranded on a ledge.

The dog was out on a walk with its owner on the morning of Tuesday, November 17 when the accident happened.

The coastguard called out Exmouth Inshore Lifeboat to stand by offshore as a rescue team recovered the dog from the ledge, but the lifeboat crew were not needed.

The dog was returned to its owner, safe and uninjured.

The RNLI is reminding dog owners of its advice on walking their pets near the coastline; its video can be seen here RNLI coastal dog walking
