Dawlish Town Council wants to make a wood carving from the stump of a recently felled horse chestnut tree on the Lawn - and wants your suggestions for what it should be.

It was recently felled by the district council's tree surgeons due to it being in very poor condition and 'almost dead'.

A new tree will reportedly be planted near the site.

The town council wants to make it into a carving, and is seeking the views of residents on what exactly they'd like to see.

Ideas already put forward are a black swan, Brunel, or something with a nautical theme.
