A new food festival is set to take place in Dawlish this autumn.

Supported by Dawlish Town Council, organisation 'eat:Festivals' will hold the free, family-friendly event in the town on Saturday 15 October.

It promises to host 'over 50 local producers'. Local ales, ciders, wines, bread, cakes, pies, street food, and more will be on offer, accompanied by street entertainers and music.

Mayor of Dawlish Cllr Val Mawhood said: "It promises to be a really exciting addition to the calendar, with the emphasis on producers both locally and across Devon.

"In co-operation with the Chamber of Trade, and including entertainment, this will be a special event for the community and the surrounding towns. It will also be an attraction for visitors, so helping to extend our tourist season."

Dawlish Chamber of Trade and Commerce Chairman Neil Salter said: "I am really looking forward to the Dawlish Food Festival this year. I think it will be great for the town."

If you would like to trade at the event, you can apply online here.
