One of the four newly-hatched cygnets in Dawlish has died.

It reportedly died overnight on 30-31 August but the circumstances are not yet known.

The first cygnet hatched on the evening of Friday 20 August just after the end of Dawlish Carnival, and three more followed suit the day after. The fifth egg in the nest did not hatch, however.

Pictured above are the three remaining cygnets as seen in the brook on Wednesday 1 September.
