Dawlish: New flexible season ticket could save you 20% in rail fares
Great Western Railway (GWR) has launched a new flexible season ticket that allows you to make eight return journeys in a 28-day period.
Now on sale for travel from Monday 28 June, the 'Flexi Season' ticket was introduced to address changes in people's working patterns brought on by the pandemic.
It's designed specifically for those who want to travel two or three days a week. According to GWR, the new ticket could see you save as much as 20%, when compared to using the monthly season ticket and travelling two days a week at peak times.
GWR's Head of Retail Lee Edworthy said: "Commuter travel patterns have been changing for a while, with an increase in part-time working or more flexible arrangements for the number of days required in the office.
"Covid-19 has rapidly hastened this and I'm pleased to be able to offer a new type of flexible ticket to reflect this change in travel behaviour and meet the changing needs of our customers."
