Dawlish is set to mark Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday this year with an in-person silence, parade, and church services.

Remembrance events were called off last year by Dawlish Town Council due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Below are key times to be aware of:

Armistice Day, Thursday 11 November

Dawlish Town Council and the Dawlish branch of the Royal British Legion will hold a two-minute silence at 11am at the 'Poppy Wall' to the rear of Dawlish Bowling Club on the Lawn.

Remembrance Sunday, 14 November

There will be a parade, wreath-laying ceremony, and church service.

The parade will assemble at 2.30pm at the Central Hall on Park Road and go to the war memorial at 2.40pm for the wreath-laying in the Memorial Garden at 3pm. There will then be a service at St Gregory's Church.

Roads will be closed briefly along the parade route.

After the service, attendees are invited to go to the Royal British Legion club on Park Road.

The town council is advising those who do not wish to take part in the parade this year to lay their wreaths from 10am to 1pm or after 4pm outside the ceremony times.
