Dawlish food review: The Home Kitchen | Opinion

By Will Goddard

Just from looking at The Home Kitchen's menu in the window, I knew that I had to try their wonderful classic British grub.

For a lover of this country's cuisine, I felt truly spoiled. I saw that they not only served a full English breakfast until 4pm, but also had a wide variety of lighter lunch options such as jacket potatoes and fishcakes.

What's more, according to the menu all of its quiches, pies, and pasties were gluten-free, and gluten free sauces were also available on request. I thought it was a great effort on their part to really try hard and go out of their way to cater to different dietary requirements.

In a rush, I just ordered a bacon sandwich on white bread with butter (the simpler the better in my book) to go. Sitting out near the Brook and munching on that amazing nosh was absolutely heavenly.

Thoroughly recommended, five stars of out five.

You can find The Home Kitchen on 2 Piermont Place and here on Google Maps.
