A woman's been treated for the effects of breathing in smoke after a fire at a shop in Teignmouth.

Dawlish firefighters helped crews from Teignmouth and Torquay to tackle the fire which broke out in a commercial tumble drier in the premises in Wellington Road - reported to be a furniture shop - at about 8.20 this morning (Wednesday, May 5).

The aerial ladder platform was brought in from Torquay and firefighters used breathing apparatus and a hosereel jet to extinguish the fire, and then a thermal image camera to check for hotspots, and a fan to clear the smoke.
