A screening of a film called The Courier is set to be held this Friday 20 January at Dawlish's Shaftesbury Theatre.

Organised by by Teignmouth Film Society, it will begin at 8pm. Entry costs £5 and tickets can be bought on the door.

A spokesperson said: "Once again, we are happy to be hosting Teignmouth film Society for a showing of this epic film.

"Benedict Cumberbatch stars in this true-life spy thriller as a British businessman unwittingly recruited into one of the greatest international conflicts in history. Forming an unlikely partnership with a Soviet officer hoping to prevent a nuclear confrontation, the two men work together to provide the crucial intelligence used to defuse the Cuban Missile Crisis.

"Doors (and bar!) open at 7pm for an 8pm screening and everyone is welcome. Tickets are only available on the door – so we hope to see you there!"
