UPDATE 27 JULY: Mutley has now been found and is receiving veterinary treatment. He will soon be returned to his owner.

A dog that went missing from the Park Road area of Dawlish last week on Monday 19 July is believed to have been stolen.

Mutley, a 14-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was last seen outside Pizza Palos on Park Road, Dawlish and is thought to have gone missing between 8.45pm-9pm.

Mutley is reportedly the therapy dog of a local resident, owned by the individual for 14 years, and is in need of veterinary treatment.

A Facebook group established after the disappearance has already gained more than 630 members.

Police are said to be examining CCTV from the area.
