Teignbridge District Council launched a public consultation today (Monday 15 November) for the final part of its 'Local Plan Review' for guiding new development.

An earlier consultation from June to August this year looked at possible new development sites for homes, employment and education.

Now, the district council wants to ask local people what they think about site options for wind turbines, small residential sites (typically for 25-50 homes), and also a site for Gypsies and Travellers.

The council is also seeking comments on a new planning policy, not site options, for solar panels and what kinds of places they might be suitable for.

Site options

There are 27 site options for wind turbines, including an area north of Langdon Road and at Summercombe Woods near Dawlish.

Land off Meadow Park in Dawlish has been identified as an option for a small residential site.

One site off the A38 near Ashburton has been identified as a possible site for Gypsies and Travellers.

How can I make my views known?

The consultation is open from Monday 15 November to 24 January 2022.
