Dawlish Coastguard helps prevent intoxicated group from paddling out to sea in Teignmouth

The Dawlish HM Coastguard Rescue Team was called out on Thursday (23 June) to help RNLI Lifeguards at the Point in Teignmouth.

A group of people had potentially been going to paddle out to sea in an inflatable craft whilst intoxicated. They were given safety advice.

A spokesperson for HM Coastguard said: "Dawlish Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked on 23 June 2022 to The Point in Teignmouth to assist RNLI Lifeguards South & East Devon with a group possibly looking to paddle out to sea in an inflatable whilst intoxicated.

"Safety advice was given to the group before standing down and going back to the day jobs."
