Exmouth RNLI volunteer lifesavers rescued an adult and two children cut off by the tide at Orcombe Point.

At 3.24pm on Thursday 6 October the crew of Exmouth RNLI inshore lifeboat D-805 George Bearman II were tasked by H.M. Coastguard to go to the aid of three individuals, an adult and two children, cut off by the tide east of Orcombe Point, Exmouth. H.M. Coastguard Rescue Teams from Exmouth and Dawlish were also assigned to the rescue.

The volunteer crew launched on service at 3.33pm and were at the reported location a few minutes later. They quickly located the three trapped individuals and conveyed them on board the lifeboat to the safety of the beach at Sandy Bay where they were left in the care of the Coastguard Rescue Team at 4.14pm. None were injured or required medical attention.

Once the RNLI lifesavers were satisfied that the three casualties were safe and well they were stood down from the assignment at 4.17pm with the lifeboat back on service shortly afterwards.
