A 'massive' amount of waste and debris was picked up from Dawlish beach in an extra clean-up session by Dawlish Against Plastic on Saturday, September 25.

More than 32kg of rubbish, including a tyre, was removed from the seashore.

The session was part of the Great Big Green Week in Dawlish from September 18-26, which also saw several volunteers joining the group's monthly litter pick. As a result, around 50kg of rubbish was removed. The next litter picks will take place on Saturday, October 30 from 10am until noon.

Dawlish Against Plastic will be holding its regular beach clean at Boat Cove this Saturday, October 2, at Boat Cove, starting at 10am. There will also be beach cleans on Saturday, November 6 starting at 11.30 and Saturday, December 4 from 11.00. Beach cleans are needed throughout the year, to remove marine debris washed up by the sea as well as litter dropped by visitors.

Anyone who would like to take part is asked to email [email protected].
