Dawlish's new community cafe will still be offering a 'warm welcome' to local residents - but has announced a change in the days it will be open.

The Warm Welcome Café – replacing the community café at the former Open Daw centre – will be run by Dawlish Methodist Church.

It was going to be open on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday – that's now changing to Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Its first day open will still be Monday, June 21, and the opening times will still be 10am until midday.

A banner has been designed with the café's new name, and will be going up on the former Open Daw centre in advance of the opening.

Dawlish Methodist Church stepped in to run the community café after the Open Daw charity was dissolved earlier this year, because of financial losses during the Covid pandemic. Read more about that here.

A team of volunteers – some from Open Daw – came forward to help with the Warm Welcome café.

They're not yet in a position to offer all the other services that were provided by Open Daw, but are very keen to start with a friendly place for people to chat over a hot drink.
