A person needed to be treated by hypothermia after falling into the Brook at Dawlish on the evening of Wednesday, May 12.

Dawlish firefighters, along with a crew from Teignmouth and a specialist rescue team from Exmouth, were called out to reports of a person in the water near the railway station soon after 9pm.

At first they couldn't find the person and began searching the water upstream and downstream, before finding the casualty on the bank of the Brook and moving them to safety.

They were treated by paramedics at the scene.
