A car that failed to stop for police on foot patrol for Teignmouth Carnival "almost dragged officers with it" on Saturday (29 July).

But the cops then found the vehicle, seized it and identified the driver.

The force issued a warning to others, saying "we will find you" even when on foot.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "We had a vehicle fail to stop for us whilst out on foot patrol for Teignmouth Carnival. It almost dragged officers with it.

"Vehicle located, seized and driver identified.

"We will find you, even on foot."
