A police officer whose first posting was to Teignmouth Police Station in 2001 has won an award for long service.

James Stock, now a Detective Chief Inspector, is credited with identifying a missing female five years after she had been reported missing and helped "secure justice" for Saraya Broadhurst and her family with a successful murder conviction.

He has also worked in roles tackling domestic abuse.

Now, DCI Stock leads on counter-corruption, complaints, and misconduct in the professional standards department.

Devon and Cornwall Police described him as a "passionate, committed, and professional police officer" and "a credit to the service".
