A visit from the Easter Bunny put smiles on a lot of faces in Dawlish at the end of last week.
The Helping Dawlish group of community organisations had appealed for donations of Easter eggs and chocolates to spread some Easter cheer around the town.
On Thursday, April 1 and Friday 2, Dawlish Community Transport spent nine and a half hours delivering Easter hampers to families, and individual gifts of Easter eggs and chocolates to individuals – along with cards made by local schoolchildren.
Around 80 deliveries were made in total by the bunny - who's also known as community transport volunteer Mandy Clemens.
One of those who received a visit was 90-year-old Gwen Ward.
She said: "What a wonderful heart-warming gesture to have the Easter Bunny pay me a personal visit.
"I cannot thank the Dawlish Community Transport people enough and also the pupil at Westcliff Primary School for making my lovely Easter card.
"At times like this it's the little things like this that really brighten up your day. Thank you to everyone involved."
Another recipient said: "It's been a long time since I had such a wonderful surprise."
Helping Dawlish have expressed their gratitude to everyone who donated Easter eggs, sweets and cards. Morrisons provided 45 Easter eggs and the rest came from local residents.
