The former Open Daw café is to reopen on Monday, June 21 with the new name of The Warm Welcome.

The running of the café is being taken over by Dawlish Methodist Church after the Open Daw charity was dissolved last month, because of financial losses during the Covid pandemic. Read more about that here.

Christian Canning from the church has told Dawlish Nub News that the Warm Welcome café will initially open from 10am until midday on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

A team of volunteers – some from Open Daw – have come forward to run the café.

The church has had a long relationship with Open Daw and said it is 'a privilege' to continue its good work.

A banner with the new name and logo is due to go up on the building in the next few days.

The church is looking into how it might be able to provide some of the other services Open Daw used to offer, but discussions about that are still at an early stage.
