Katherine Dawson, age 8, has been fundraising for The Open Daw in Dawlish.

During the summer she made and sold little pebble pets and now she's making mini Christmas trees from pine cones.

Katherine, who is CEV and having to school at home, had been litterpicking for Open Daw since she was four years old.

Her mother Rosie said: "During the first lockdown she wondered how the isolated people who use the service would manage without their friends.

"She then wondered how the charity would carry on without an income.

"Within 24 hours of announcing both little projects, her items had been reserved by locals and she's made around £80 so far."

Katherine said: "I want to help Open Daw because they give people tea and cake and help them find clubs and friends. They're very kind people."

"If anyone else would like to help raise money, I'm sure Open Daw would be super excited".
