Hampers packed with treats have been presented to some of the people and services that have kept Dawlish going through the pandemic.

The Helping Dawlish group put together the hampers for several organisations including the town's pharmacies, police, doctors' surgery, hospital and ambulance service.

The hampers, gift-wrapped by Presents of Dawlish, were to thank those whose services have been particularly in demand during the Covid crisis, and who have worked hard to help keep people safe and well.

Helping Dawlish also included a thank-you poem in each hamper, which read:

'For those who kept on working

For the community in our town

Helping people when they're scared or sick

Or Covid's dragged them down,

The pride we have for all of you

Serving despite the fear

Scooping up our vulnerable

Care and protection aways near.

This hamper couldn't say it all

Deep gratitude and praise

For all your team have done each day

Guiding Dawlish Parish through this Covid maze.'
